Site Purpose

  • The intent of this site is to have a portal for sharing key material that I developed for engineers and business managers.  It took on-the-job training to learn these basics.  They are not taught routinely pre-graduate in engineering or business which put me at a disadvantage until ultimately I did learn them.  None of the management specifics contained herein were taught in my Engineering college education.  That education was all analytical right through a Masters degree and beyond in Electrical Engineering.

Even Business Management courses do not provide the insights that I have developed.  They are too focused on more than is needed on-the-job in most if not all of the cases that I experienced.  Often what is taught is too esoteric and more analytical than is actually required for most management tasks.

I was determined to document my insights on what is important and make it simple and concise and not a huge textbook.  I chose to make it useful by having the narratives supported by easy-to-use tools such as checklists, flow diagrams, and ‘fill-in-the- required-info’ templates.  I developed these ‘tools’ to help those who are, or will be program and technical managers, engineering contributors, and business managers when engaged in the management of technical development programs and proposals to help them be successful.

In addition and of particular importance are the behavioral competencies that I am sharing and am providing access to from this site that were hard fought to learn to survive when confronted with what could be described as a stress inducing style of senior management.  Similarly, I am also providing a set of key people skills that I took too long to learn as well and that I find most beneficial for success in leadership both at work and at home.

Hence, this Site is a Gateway for users to see the overarching material provided and to copy/download the files desired (for free) to have them available at a glance to be effective, competitive, and judged relevant in their careers.
